What is PRI(Primary Rate Interface)?

PRI (Primary Rate Interface)

It is a common name for a type of line, PRI (30B+D) is 2.048Mb/s and can be compared to an E1 line. It is generally used for:
1.Voice services provided by operators with a line size of 2.048Mb/s. Access to the ISDN network allows direct use of the telephone to communicate with external parties.
2.Voice lines from the router to the PBX equipment, which can be connected to FAX and telephone sets underneath the PBX's equipment. The telephone set can get in touch with the intranet IP Phone through the router.
Note: Usually used for voice services, one PRI service can take 30 voice lines.
