About Customer
At 16:00 on November 1st, Beijing time, the first unit of the China Huaneng Sihanoukville Electricity Power Plant in Cambodia successfully passed the full-load performance test marking the official commencement of power generation for the first unit of the largest thermal power project invested and constructed by China Huaneng in Cambodia.
The Huaneng Sihanoukville project is located in the northeastern part of Sihanoukville, Cambodia, in the Kampong Som Bay area, and consists of two 350,000-kilowatt generating units.
The main construction of the project began in August 2020 and lasted 27 months until full operation.
During the construction process, the project team aimed for "beautiful environment, high-quality engineering, and efficient operation," overcoming various challenges such as high temperatures, heavy rainfall, material shortages, and logistical delays.
Project Challenge
As the Power Plant developed, the telephony system was facing communication challenges across its expansive facility. The existing communication infrastructure was lack of capacity, the existing model is discontinued and unable to add more extensions, thus unable to meet the demands of their growing operations.
To address these issues, the company sought a modern telephony solution that could provide seamless communication, mobility, and reliability across their plant, compatible with the current telephony system.
New Rock Solution
After conducting a thorough evaluation, the Power Plant decided to implement New Rock OM50 IP PBX telephony and NRP2020 Wi-Fi phones for communication system expansion. This decision was made to ensure that employees across the plant, including those working in remote areas, could stay connected and collaborate effectively.
The new system aimed to improve communication, enhance safety protocols, and streamline operations.
The implementation of OM50G IP PBX telephony system with NRP2020 WiFi phones brought about an add-on communication capacity in the plant communication system. Employees were now able to make and receive calls, access voicemail, and communicate with colleagues from anywhere within the facility, thanks to the WIFI-enabled IP Phones.
This mobility and flexibility proved to be invaluable, especially in emergency situations and during routine maintenance activities.
Moreover, the integration of the IP PBX system allowed for advanced call management features, such as call routing, voicemail-to-email, and conference calling, improving overall productivity and efficiency. The system's scalability ensured that as the plant expanded, the telephony infrastructure could easily accommodate the growing workforce and communication needs.
Customer Value
In addition to enhancing internal communication, the new telephony system also improved the plant's responsiveness to external stakeholders, such as suppliers, partners, and regulatory authorities. The ability to seamlessly connect with external parties contributed to smoother operations and strengthened relationships within the industry.
Overall, the implementation of the OM50G IP PBX telephony system with NRP2020 Wi-Fi phones proved to be a game-changer for the Power Plant. It not only addressed their communication challenges but also positioned them for future growth and operational excellence. The Power Plant make plan to use OM Series IP PBX to substitute the discontinued models in the current system phase by phase.
The all-in-one unified communications system OM IP PBX can significantly impact the operations and efficiency of a power plant, leading to improved communication, enhanced safety, and streamlined processes.
