What is FXO VoIP Gateway?

In the traditional telephone network, telephone communication is transmitted through telephone lines, while SIP is a VOIP communication method through the network, if traditional telephones want to communicate with SIP-based IP telephones, they need gateways for transit, FXO gateways are the way to simulate telephone lines to interface with VOIP systems, through FXO gateways to achieve the VOIP telephone system outbound/inbound. The FXO gateway is used to connect to the VOIP system by means of an analogue telephone line, and the FXO gateway enables the outgoing/incoming VOIP telephone system.

When an enterprise user deploys a IP PBX, if they need to make outgoing calls, they can connect the telephone line provided by the telecom operator to the FXO gateway for outgoing calls and incoming applications.

Many users may ask, "My IPPBX does not have an FXO gateway, but I can still make outbound calls. In fact, if look at the interface of the IP PBX, users will find that the IP PBX has an FXO interface. This is just a case of the equipment vendor integrating the FXO gateway in a port situation inside the IP PBX to simplify the equipment and make it easier to use in some application scenarios.
